Jesse McCartney released his first solo EP in July 2003, "Beautiful Soul". The song reached #2 on AOL Music and the music video performed on MTV was rated in the top ten by viewers. The album of the same name was released at the end of 2004 and has garnered platinum status.

In 2004, he performed a duet with Anne Hathaway, "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", which is featured on the Ella Enchanted soundtrack.



His second album, titled Right Where You Want Me, was released by Hollywood Records on September 19, 2006.  The hit album, Departure, is just out this May (2008).

In the fall of 2007 McCartney teamed up with reggae/hip-hop band Cipes and The People to record Rescue. McCartney is a prolific songwriter and co-wrote the hit single, “Bleeding Love” for singer Leona Lewis.  It was the best selling single in the UK in 2007, the biggest selling UK single of 2007.
